The job:

 

As a Web Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in driving online sales and enhancing the digital shopping experience through strategic product placement, promotion, and user engagement techniques. You will use customer behaviour insights and analytical and other market data to drive the performance of your sport online and offline.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Website Content

  • Work together with the Sports Ecosystems to implement the sports and campaign strategy online

  • Identify commercial opportunities to improve AOV and Conversion across the site and implement

  • To manage all pages across all websites, ensuring that all products are displayed in the right way, making it easy for the customer to discover and desire.

  • To provide a smooth user experience by ensuring that products are categorised correctly, enabling the customer to find the relevant product quickly; maximising conversion

  • To ensure that all pages are effectively merchandised, identifying best sellers, key trends & stories.

 

Analysis and Research

  • Monitor and analyse the performance of the actions that you put in place, set up weekly reports, capture relevant KPI data and feedback to your Sports Squad/Campaign team

  • Monitor the market and fully understand trends, gaps, and opportunities in order to optimise listings, increase traffic and improve conversion.

  • Provide feedback and insight for UX and UI based on customer feedback as well as shopping the Decathlon UK, Decathlon United Countries, and competitor sites - identifying potential tests and improvements

 

Project Management

  • To be able to manage a project through your technical/sports-level expertise

  • To communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Manage risks to the website, operations, communications, and the customer

  • Schedule and time manage your project events as well as being able to prioritize and negotiate timelines/roadmaps

 

The profile we’re looking for:

  • Has an obvious passion for sport

  • Is great with numbers and analytical skills for data-driven decision-making

  • Is a problem solver with the ability to find the root cause of an issue 

  • Is a skilled communicator with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Has Excel and Google Sheets skills

  • Has experience and understanding of Decathlon products useful

  • Has experience in e-commerce useful

 

Additional information 

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least three days a week in our Office in London (Surrey Quays)

This is a temporary 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.
