Chingford is a charming district in North East London, just 30 minutes by train from London Liverpool Street and a short drive from the scenic Essex countryside. Surrounded by Epping Forest, tranquil reservoirs, and picturesque walking and cycling trails, Chingford offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and city accessibility, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts.
Decathlon Chingford is a destination location, a spacious 1,700 sqm store based in the Cork Tree Retail Park, Chingford. With an annual turnover trajectory of £4.3 million, our main goal this year is to focus on activities, B2B, and our membership program while maintaining the highest standards across all areas.
Your responsibilities:

Drive Local Omnichannel Performance in My Sports

Create and execute a dynamic omnichannel commercial strategy tailored to my zone and aligned with the stores goals.

Delight customers at every touchpoint to build loyalty and foster long-term relationships.

Continuously optimize both physical and digital retail spaces to enhance customer experience and maximize conversion rates.

Take the lead on safety and sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with eco-responsibility standards.

Set, monitor, and achieve commercial objectives and profitability targets across in-store and out-of-store channels.

Build and manage an effective and agile team organization to support business needs and growth, ensuring we can hit our efficiency targets.

Staff Management: Develop and mentor teammates through performance reviews, identify individual needs, and provide opportunities for growth and development.
Recruitment & Onboarding: Define recruitment needs, attract and recruit talented individuals, and ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new teammates.
Human Resources Management: Oversee the legal framework for staff management, define organisational structure, and coordinate team flexibility to meet business needs.
Scheduling & Operations: Manage daily store operations, including scheduling, task allocation, and resource management, to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
In addition to these skills and abilities, you're comfortable working in a dynamic retail environment, including weekends and holidays, and are excited to contribute to the success of our team.

As a Department Manager, you will be required to work usual retail hours including evenings and weekends.
