Decathlon UK is looking for a new Project Manager to join the Property Team to contribute to reaching ambitious goals of expansion, to help more people get physically active through sport.

As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our construction projects are managed on time and within budget. This technical role offers an excellent opportunity to hit the ground running, working on some exciting projects from the get-go. 

Your Responsibilities:


Feasibility stage

Produce a cost estimate and high-level programme

Produce a works split list and specifications doc (as needed)

Negotiate with external parties (as required)

Manage external contractors and consultants

Keep the team and the other departments informed as the project advances


Delivery Stage

Manage the external contractors (when on-site)

Follow the works on site and inform the business of progress, manage the risks

Responsible for the successful delivery of projects to agreed time, cost, quality and health & safety parameters.

Engage with the FM team to ensure group policy and best practice is considered for all projects



Contribute to the development of building and operation of more sustainable but cost-effective stores.



Contribute to technical innovation with the areas for which you are responsible



Provide construction-related financial advice including but not limited to;

Management of project and capital investment budgets

Project cost plans, budget and cash flow forecasts




Time – Compliance with the construction programme for the project from start to finish

Quality – Compliance with the concept requirements, building regulations and any other statutory requirements

Cost – Compliance with the approved budget and effective communication of variances

Health and Safety – Compliance with the UK regulations and with the Decathlon policies

File Management – Clearly save all the works in progress and final information in the shared system drive


Who are you?


Essential Criteria

Further Education qualifications (University degree)

Held a similar position in another company (experience in retail fit-outs)

Solid understanding of brand and corporate environments and operations

Experience in JCT building contracts and consultants appointments

Familiar with the Google tools (drive, docs, slides, sheets...)

Responsible and confident in making your own decisions

Ability to work effectively with multiple teams

Autonomous and effective communicator

Have excellent planning and organisational skills

Have strong attention to detail

Passionate about sustainable development


Desirable criteria

Familiar with CAD (2D)

Multilingual abilities (any language)

Sport passionate (any sport)

Location: Sheffield, Manchester, or Northampton area

Dedicated time: 100%

Salary: £38-45k/year depending on experience
