Junior Data Protection Manager

Your Role

Decathlon UK is looking for a Junior Data Protection Manager in order to improve the quality of our processes. Managed by the Legal Manager and in permanent connection with the Data Protection team based in our international Head Office (in France), you will embody the data protection within the company and work closely with the different services. 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Animate and ensure the conformity/compliance of the data treatments processed by the different leaders (accompany their project + internal control/counterpower)
  • Join the Decathlon European DPO group and analyse the problematics and questions of the other countries in order to improve our own compliance
  • Update the data protection policy on our website when new data treatments are identified
  • Implement and lead a regular "data protection committee" with the relevant internal stakeholders
  • Ensure the data controller register is up-to-date considering the new partnerships signed and challenge the leaders to get the relevant information
  • Secure the contractual relationships with our suppliers + manage the cross-border data transfers
  • Define a data retention policy and animate the different leaders on this topic
  • Declare the potential data breach to the ICO & maintain a register of all incidents
  • Process the data requests from our customers after contacting each stakeholder 
  • Transparence duty: update when needed our legal mentions, our data collection template, our processes in store
  • Challenge the IT department to ensure the security of our data stored locally
  • Provide training to our teammates and leaders in order to help the change of mindset on the data protection in the company
  • Interact with the external DPO when appointed
  • 20% of the mission will also include the data protection in Decathlon Ireland

 

Who Are You?

 

  • You need to really love and be interested in the personal data protection for what it is: a key part of customers and employees experience (transparence/security/confidentiality) and an important risk to manage properly for the business
  • We are not looking for a senior profile or someone with experience already but we want to be sure the candidate really understand and love data protection, so a data protection degree OR a first experience in data protection will be required
  • Vitality, motivation, charisma and good communication skills
  • Trips to Ireland and Lille will be required from time to time
  • English must be fluent
  • Love of sport :)
