IT Engineer Apprentice

As an IT Engineer Apprentice you’ll be helping our Decathlon teammates with their everyday IT problems and queries, all to ensure that our systems run as smoothly as possible so that our customers can access the sporting equipment they need. Not only will you be learning on the job, we’ll support you through your IT degree apprenticeship programme. You’ll be part of our dynamic IT team working alongside our most experienced engineers and technicians both here in the UK and internationally.

What's involved?

Our Decathlon IT department is ever changing and developing fast, here are parts of the role where you’ll have the biggest impact in: 

  • User satisfaction and enhancement. 

  • Store opening/closing/relocation IT support. 

  • Retail and Logistics general technical support. 

  • IT incident management and troubleshooting. 

  • User satisfaction quality assurance, to a high standard. 

  • Incident root cause analysis, reporting and prevention.  

  • IT project planning and implementation.

Are you?

  • An active sports person with passion and experience in IT.

  • An autonomous worker with good planning and organisational skills. 

  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with others to achieve common goals. 

  • Someone looking to undertake a degree apprenticeship to further their education in IT.

  • An emergent leader with an ability to overcome challenges. 

Must haves: 

  • Fluent in English speaking and writing with excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to travel to and support sites across the UK, when needed.




  • Retail and warehouse environment experience. 

  • Understanding of project management. 

  • Education / Qualifications in IT or a similar field. 

Additional information: 

This role will involve travel between our HQ in London and our Logistics Center in Northampton along with some other travel to sites across the UK. Your travel expenses will be fully covered by Decathlon.  

Whilst on site, you will have full Covid health and safety precautions in place, safety of our employees and customers is paramount for us during these times. 

Salary range: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum.
