As a Construction Project Manager you will be responsible for ensuring our construction projects are managed on time and within budget. This technical role offers an excellent opportunity to hit the ground running, working on some exciting projects from the get-go. You will be working within the property team to help further expand our presence within the UK. Produce a cost estimate & high level programme
Produce a works split list and specifications doc (as needed)
Negotiate with external parties (as required)
Manage external contractors
Keep the team and the other departments informed as project advances
Manage the external contractors (when on site)
Follow the works on site and inform the business of progress, manage the risks
Responsible for successful delivery of projects to agreed time, cost, quality and health & safety parameters.
Engage with the FM team to ensure group policy and best practice is considered for all projects
Contribute to the development of building and operation of more sustainable but cost effective stores.
Contribute on technical innovation with the areas for which you are responsible (Construction)
Provide construction related financial advice including but not limited to;
Management of project and capital investment budgets
Project cost plans, budget and cash flow forecasts
Time – Compliance with the construction programme for the project from start to finish
Quality – Compliance with the concept requirements, building regulations and any other statutory requirements
Cost – Compliance with the approved budget and effective communication of variances
Health and Safety – Compliance with the UK regulations and with the Decathlon policies
File Management – Clearly save all the works in progress and final information in the shared system drive
Who are you?
Further Education qualifications (HNC/HND and above)
Held a similar position in another company (experience in retail fit-outs)
Solid understanding of brand and corporate environments and operations
Experience of JCT building contracts and consultants appointments
Familiar with the google tools (drive, docs, slides, sheets...)
Responsible and confident in making your own decisions
Ability to work effectively with multiple teams
Organised, autonomous & an effective communicator
Passionate about sustainable development
Multilingual abilities (any language)
